Japan

My heart goes out to all that are affected by the recent events in Japan.  It's times like this that I'm grateful that my family and I are okay.  I cannot fathom what the people of Japan are going through.  I'm sure in some ways it is similar to the shock we as a nation felt on 9/11/01.  It's numbing.

Last night and this morning all I could really think about were the people who live in Japan.  Earthquake.  Tsunami.  Nuclear reactors leaking and causing much peril.  I weigh these horrific events against our own tragedy 06/05/10.  Yes, losing Ethan was and still is heartbreaking.  We will never be the same--ever.  But I also realize that in the midst of our circumstances, we were loved and cared for by many, had food, clothing, a home...and most of all...the knowledge that Ethan went to meet Jesus and spend ETERNITY in heaven.  Ethan is safe in His arms.  :o)

In contrast, the poor people in Japan have lost homes, family members, are being exposed to carcinogens (that could have long term, devastating effects), etc.  I cannot fathom the aftermath of being in such a disaster.  It's much like the peril that occurred in Haiti and Indonesia in past natural disasters.

Keep in thought and prayers those that are suffering.  Be grateful for the blessings we have been given!
