Shannon, my heart breaks that you would feel awkward at homeschool events because of homeschooling one precious boy. I hope I have never said anything so insensitive. I often have thought homeschooling one would be harder than homeschooling many! Although I feel (completely) inadequate everyday and have fears and doubts about turning out children that not only love Jesus (my main focus) but whose education can also be a good testimony for home education, I can imagine the pressure on you to be all things to your sweet Evan can weigh heavily on you. I hope you feel not only valuable, but desperately needed in any groups you are in. Your friendship is so valuable to me!
